Welcome to Simple Wins, the show where we talk to the architects behind the most successful B2B firms. We're currently in the middle of a massive project.
curating the 2026 B2B benchmark and we're looking for high level strategies that actually work in today's market. And I knew I had to get Brandon Lebowitz on the mic to help us set the standard. Brandon is the founder of SEO optimizers, a digital marketing agency in Los Angeles that he has run since 2007. He helps small and mid-sized business owners grow their online presence and generate more sales and leads through SEO,
paid advertising, email marketing, and data-driven digital strategies that deliver real results. They've built a reputation for seeing the moves that others miss, and I'm pumped to have them here. Brandon, a big welcome to the show.
Brandon Leibowitz (00:54.968)
Thank you for having me on today. I'm excited to share some SEO tips.
Adam O'Leary (00:57.307)
Absolutely.
Yeah, it's going to be awesome. So I'm so excited to have you here because as we build out this 2026 benchmark, we're finding that the most successful firms are making very specific choices about their structure. And I'd to start here with you. When it comes to your business model, are you building an elite boutique where you stay small and go incredibly deep with just a few top tier clients? Or are you more of a scaling machine where you build the system that delivers your high level results to as many companies as
as possible.
Brandon Leibowitz (01:31.214)
Nowadays I'm more of a scaling machine where at first I was at Elite Boutique and then I able to systemize everything and get those processes in place because the way Google works it's...
For the most part, for every business, it's very similar, just changing keywords or changing the backlinks or if you're local business, focusing on the maps versus e-commerce, focusing on shopping. But for the most part, it's able to systemize everything over the years. And that just helps me scale and provide the most value for anyone that's looking to grow and get more visibility on Google or chat GPT or wherever people are searching nowadays.
Adam O'Leary (02:10.126)
That's awesome. And are you growing mostly through your authority where your content acts as a magnet that pulls the best clients to you? Or are you more of a strategic partner who knows exactly which doors to knock on to create a perfect match?
Brandon Leibowitz (02:25.784)
Try to.
myself out there everywhere where I'm putting out a lot of content on my blogs, putting in social media content, doing the guest podcast spots and trying to just build that authority and let people know that I've been doing this and subject matter expert and can help them out but also doing some inbound where I'll run some paid ads a little bit but I like to remarket to people, follow people around that have been to my website but did not fill out a form or do a conversion action so keep
myself top of mind and just having those touch points to help build that trust up. But nowadays most of it comes in down which is nice that I've been able to establish that, set that up over the years and don't have to just be knocking on people's doors or cult calling.
Adam O'Leary (03:13.658)
I mean it is so incredible that you've been able to build this out and that you're able to go ahead and and help others build up this inbound machine. This is one of the reasons I was so excited to have you here. And I guess another question for you is as you scale are you betting on more elite talent bringing in those top tier minds to solve big problems or are you building a smart system using tech and automation to do the heavy lifting for you?
Brandon Leibowitz (03:38.862)
I'm not trying to get people to come in board because tech is great, but as people know with AI.
does that AI hallucinations and you can't only rely on tech and I try to automate as much as I can with like email sequences and follow ups, but that only goes so far and you really need that personal touch to really make sure it stands out and is going to help people because every business is different and I could systemize everything, but there are all these little nuances that every website and every business is going to be a little different and got to make sure that I'm able to properly help out with that and same with my team members making sure
sure that they are experts in whichever fields we're working on, whether it's on keyword research or building backlinks or getting really deep into the technical side of things and just making sure that they provide the best user experience and the best results possible. So trying to get a mix of both, the AI or the automations, they sometimes break and...
It's always trying to fix things and it doesn't always work perfectly but when it does work it's great because it does save a lot of time but we want to make sure that we get the best results and just by saving a few hours if it's not providing the same quality as a human would then it's maybe not the best to do now.
Adam O'Leary (04:55.257)
Absolutely, you know, I've seen it. I've seen the AI slop So, you know exactly what you're talking about there and thank God I totally agree with you and one thing I would say here and you talked about like the hours and if I guess my question would be is if you had an extra 10 hours of Executive focus this week Would you put that time towards scaling your impact or bringing like bringing your experience to more top-tier companies or? Perfecting the experience making the results for your current partners even more elite
Brandon Leibowitz (05:25.646)
would probably do a little bit of both, trying to help provide better quality for my current existing ones, but trying to just help build more outreach on my end.
Yeah, it be nice to get more time. That's one thing that everyone's trying to get more time back because it's only so much time in the day and that's where just got to delegate more but also manage that team to make sure that they are working and providing those good quality results. But it's always nice to get some time to do stuff like this where I could be on more podcasts as a guest and get myself out there because I love doing that and been doing this for a while. The guest podcasting since 2020 and probably been on almost 300 shows as a guest because
of backlinks that you get, which a lot of people don't realize that you're gonna get this SEO value from being on other people's shows. So, like that aspect of it, which...
is where I would want to spend more time on that, also helping maintain my clients a little bit more and just making sure there's some oversight a little bit more. But for the most part, I'm always checking it and making sure that everything's done properly. So that's not an issue. But more time is always good because then I could just dive deeper into some more technical things because there's always these little nuances of like schema code that is always great to implement. But there's so many different schemas that you could add to a website that sometimes it's going in and try and look at the
and see what they're doing and where there might be a disconnect from one of my clients of they might have schema but they might be missing this extra one that a client has that is just going to help move the needle a little bit more and get them to move up faster.
Adam O'Leary (07:00.266)
I love that and this is the reason I wanted to have you here because you have all these little ideas that I know people can be implementing quickly. So we call this show simple wins because the best experts usually have these simplest solutions. What would you say is your signature simple win that one tweak you've seen work time and time again that a listener could execute this week?
Brandon Leibowitz (07:24.16)
easiest thing without getting technical is just add more content to your website.
search engines feed off of text. The more text you have on every single page on your website, the happier the search engines are going to be because they struggle with images and videos. They're getting much better with AI, but they still want text on every single page. And that means you have to add more content and also making more pages. That's one of the low hanging fruit that I see with almost everybody is add more pages on your website that describe or make a page for every single
service that you offer or if you're e-commerce and different products and who your audience is because the more pages you have the more keywords you could target. Each page
Can only really target about like three to five words after that loses relevancy. And if you want to rank for more keywords, more pages are always going to be great. And then adding text to each page to help support what that page is about. So the search engines know what keywords to rank you for. That's one low hanging fruit. Like I do SEO for people on different platforms, like WordPress or Shopify or Wix and Squarespace. And I list that out on my website, but that's not enough.
for each one is what search engines want to see and also people. If someone's searching on Google for WordPress SEO company, if I just mention it briefly on a page, that's not really enough but if I have a whole page dedicated to WordPress SEO, that's going to speak to that person more, resonate with them, give that relevancy and also search engines are going to love that. So building that out, I feel like I have probably almost 400 pages on my website. I just do SEO but I built out all these different pages targeting different keywords.
Adam O'Leary (09:11.606)
That's amazing. And when you talk about these different keywords, are you talking about more blog posts or are you referencing more like actual pages on the page, like on the site?
Brandon Leibowitz (09:21.782)
more pages.
listing out all your services and then you have to have blogs that support those pages. So just making a page on my website about WordPress SEO is good, but it's not enough to build what's called topical relevancy. And what Google wants to see is that you have blogs that support that topic because I just mentioned it one time on a page or have a page on my website that mentions WordPress SEO. That's good. But they're like, are you really an expert in WordPress SEO? Because if you are, you should also have
blogs that support this content, having those blogs linked to that service page, having the blogs linked to one another, builds this topical relevancy aspect. It's called EEAT. Google is looking for experience, expertise, authority, and trust. And you want to make sure that you get all those, otherwise they're not going to rank you or they're just not going to trust you enough to rank you.
Adam O'Leary (10:16.063)
Absolutely. No, that makes a lot of sense and I'm curious your thought on this because I love when people call out fluff What would you say is one golden rule in your industry that most people think is essential? But you've proven is just a huge waste of time for an elite company
Brandon Leibowitz (10:35.246)
I mean there are a lot of things that people are doing that they think are going to help out like well going in and making all these changes to their website, putting all those keywords on their website is so very important but a lot of people think that's all you have to do but that's not going to work without building trust and trust comes from getting other websites to mention you. The more third-party sites that have clickable links that point to your website, the more popular Google is going to think you are, the more trust they're going to give to you and the higher they're to rank you.
lot people just focus on adding content or adding a lot of blog posts. Like I have one client that's coming to me recently that's been blogging twice a week on their website and they're just for the past couple of years and just like I'm not getting much traction. It's because they don't have any backlinks. When I looked using tools at their backlinks they only had like 10 backlinks and you need to be consistently building backlinks in conjunction with adding more content and more blogs. All that stuff is very important but that feels like a puzzle.
You have to put all those pieces together and if you leave some of them out, it's not going to move the needle as much as you would like it to see.
Adam O'Leary (11:43.466)
love that and if you could imagine that you could just snap your fingers and give your clients a massive competitive advantage by December. What's the one transformation you'd love to see every one of them achieve?
Brandon Leibowitz (11:56.686)
putting themselves out there more and putting a face behind the company and being open to being a guest on people's podcasts or just filming video content because people buy off people and putting a face behind the company builds that trust because SEO will get you traffic. But traffic is only so much if the website isn't optimized for conversions or built for conversions.
that traffic is just going to fall off. And that's where I try look at more holistically and make sure that you're not just only getting traffic, targeted traffic, but we're going to make sure that your website is going to work for you in terms of getting that traffic to not just visit your website, but call you or email you fill out that form, buy your product, whatever that conversion goal is. And that is tough for a lot of business owners to put themselves out there. But once you do it, you realize it's not that difficult. It's just taking that leap of faith and just starting to do it. And once like
it took me a while to do it to put my face out there and start filming more videos but once I started doing it I realized why didn't I do this a long time ago because people have told me for years like start putting yourself out there make more videos put your face out there but sometimes it's just tough for people to do it but just taking that leap and going for it is gonna really help out
Adam O'Leary (13:10.365)
and I couldn't agree with that more. Where should people go to learn more about you?
Brandon Leibowitz (13:14.806)
I actually created a special gift for everybody. If you go to my website at SEO optimizers.com forward slash gift. That's SEO O P T I I Z E R S dot com forward slash gift. You can find that gift there along with my contact information and classes I've done over the years. I've thrown up for free so you could see step by step how to do a lot of stuff that we just talked about. And also if they do have a website and want me to check it out from an SEO point of view, they could
book some time on my calendar for free there as well.
Adam O'Leary (13:48.5)
